Mapping and Course Planning

Course Planning

Course planning can be done in Condes or in OCAD 8 or OCAD 9.

  • FVO has a club licence for the use of Condes, which makes this the easier tool to install and get up and running.
  • FVO has only a single licence for OCAD 8 which allows it to be installed on only one computer at a time.

To use the club licence you need to make a booking (below).
  • There are also demo versions of OCAD 8 and OCAD 9 available - but these are restrictive in what can be edited and saved.

To install Condes, download it from here. Then ask David Nicol for a copy of the club licence details to complete the install.

Mapping

The standard tool for mapping is OCAD. The current version of OCAD is version 9. The club has a single licence for OCAD 8 - and all the clubs current maps are drawn in OCAD 8.

  • The club has a single licence for OCAD 8 which allows it to be installed on one computer at a time. To use the club licence you must book it below
  • The current version of OCAD is OCAD 9. A demo version can be downloaded from here. The demo version contains the functions of the Standard version with some restrictions. The number of objects is limited to a maximum of 500. Course setting is limited to 50 objects and 5 courses. The saving functions are disabled (except course setting). This makes it only really useful for limited course planning
  • There are still demo versions of OCAD 8 available (though not on the OCAD web site0 (ASK). It has all the same features as the licensed version, but (a) maps are limited to 1,000 objects and (b) course planning is limited to 50 course setting objects and 5 courses.

FVO has one OCAD 8 licences which allows installation of the OCAD 8 software on a single computer. If you would like to use this OCAD 8 licence then please contact David Nicol.
