Forth Valley Orienteers

Safeguarding Policy

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

FVO is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children and vulnerable adults participating in our activities. We seek to ensure that juniors can participate in a safe and secure environment, and are committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children in our care.

Forth Valley Orienteers (FVO) fully comply with and adhere to the Scottish Orienteering Association Child Protection Policy and guidelines on the Scottish Orienteering website.

FVO coaches and other volunteers who have direct contact with children (under 18) are all required to be members of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. Coaches are also required to complete Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport training.

Anyone who has any concerns about safeguarding, child safety or wellbeing, or any potential new coaches or volunteers should contact our club Welfare Officer by email or have a chat at any of our activities.
