Lakes Laurels for Local Loupers
Once every four years, the focus of British summer orienteering moves to the English Lake District, for the Lakes 5 event, and FVO has a tradition of victory in the races over tough open terrain. Here's the event diary from this year's Lakes 5, which saw five FVO athletes on the overall podiums at
Running the World
Forth Valley Orienteers sent a strong contingent of 19 athletes to the World Masters Championships in Denmark, and were rewarded with some strong displays right across the board.
Relay Great
Forth Valley Orienteers turned on the style to claim victory in the overnight Harvester Trophy relays for the fourth time in five years, and with it the overall British Relay League title.

Everything came together for Forth Valley Orienteers as they claimed three gold medals at the British Mixed Sprint Relays in Morpeth to move top of the British Relay League.

Forth Valley Orienteers' sterling team performance at the recent Scottish Championships has brought more honours, as the club was rewarded with the Scottish Inter-Club Championship trophy for a third successive year.
Sunshine on Nairn
Forth Valley Orienteers had a banner weekend at the Scottish Championships in Nairn, winning 22 medals in the individual championships, 12 of them Gold, and a further five in the relays.
A Right Royal Show
A majestic team performance at the British Championships at Balmoral brought a kingly reward in the shape of 22 medals in the individual championships, nine of them gold, backed up by seven more in the relays, including both mens and womens elite titles.
JK Day 4: Senior Moments
A highly successful Jan Kjellstrom Festival concluded for FVO with a pair of medals for the Senior teams in the relays, bringing the trophy count for the weekend to 31.
JK Day 3: Lizzie Lands the Laurels
Lizzie Stansfield was crowned W16 Jan Kjellstrom champion after a stunning Long distance run pulled her to the top of the leaderboard.
JK Day 2: Clare-ly Class at Bereton
Clare Stansfield showed that an extended spell out of the forest hasn't affected her quality with a massive 16 minute winning margin to take the gold medal in W20S at the Jan Kjellstrom Festival in the West Midlands.
JK Day 1: All Golden for Grace and Kris
Kris Jones and Grace Molloy took gold in the Jan Kjellstrom Sprint at Stafford Barracks on a fine opening day of the festival.
