Jamie Stevenson Trophy 2026 & Local EventSun 21 Jun
Essential Info
The Jamie Stevenson Trophy is an annual inter-club competition for junior orienteers in Scotland. This year the competition will take place at Hermitage Woods, Stirling University, on Sunday 21st June. This is a great event for juniors of all abilities to meet, socialise and compete against each other. There will be a parade, warm-up and challenges for all to enjoy as well as the orienteering. In 2025 over 100 juniors from 12 clubs took part.
The competition is open to juniors (M/W18 and under) and courses offered include Yellow, Orange, Light Green and Green. Information about the eligibility of juniors for each course and the scoring system can be found on the SOA website. Unconfident juniors are able to pair up and be competitive.
This event is a fundraising event for the Scottish Junior Orienteering Squad with all profits going to support the Squad. Entries are made via clubs and club entries should be submitted using the attached entry form. Speak to your Club Committee if you haven’t already been approached. Entries on the same course from the same club will be at least 4 minutes apart. You can add a start time preference for each competitor (Early/Middle/Late) but if you wish competitors from your club to run in a particular order, please can you make that clear on the Entry Form, and list them on the entry form in the preferred order (earliest first on the form and latest last). The event is likely to start with a parade at 10.45 am and start times will range from 11.15 am onwards.
For Club entries please can you e-mail the completed form to Judy Bell at the address below, and arrange payment of entry fees by bank transfer to ScotJOS – payment details are on the Entry Form. The Entry Fee is £9. Pairs pay per map. In addition to the medals awarded for each course, we would like to have ‘spot’ prizes so that everyone feels included; if Clubs are able to donate something suitable it would be greatly appreciated; please bring it along on the day, and hand to any of the Organisers.
Alongside this event will be a local event, offering the colour coded courses above plus Blue, with starts from approximately 12pm till 1.15pm. For accompanying adults, and any junior not wishing to represent their club/requiring shadowing, please enter here: https://www.sientries.co.uk/event.php?event_id=17955

Jamie Stevenson Trophy
Local event
Local events are competitive but low key and in the 'localised' area, often on a Wednesday evening or a weekend morning. Try O events are local events tailored to anyone new to the sport, with coaches on hand for advice and tips. Open to all ages, abilities and fitness levels, learn to use a map and compass to navigate round short courses.
Training events are non-competitive and used for training and coaching. These are aimed at members of the club, but non-members and newcomers are also welcome. Social events are non-orienteering activities, with the annual highlight being our Awards Evening and ceilidh!
Regional events attract participants from around the local region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, and Major events are large competitions such as a British Championships or the JK.
