A busy weekend of orienteering saw FVO athletes feature in five different races, with some top performances in a variety of race formats
Double Tops in Inter-Clubs
FVO claimed its 9th consecutive Scottish Inter-Club Championship title by 10,000 points from ESOC, with a strong performance across the board.
Champions Crowned before Dinner
The FVO club championships at Kippendavie, near Dunblane, featured a record attendance at a local event of 164 competitors, in an event that doubled as the Scottish Student Championship, and there was a mix of familiar and new faces on the champion's roster.
Running up the Score
Forth Valley Orienteers proved to be a major factor in the Scottish Score Championship, as local athletes lifted nine national titles on a 20 medal day in Gorebridge
Big in the City
Forth Valley Orienteers staged a memorable Scottish Urban League event in Dunblane which attracted more than 150 competitors to the 4th Stirling City Race in the cathedral city, and there were more than 20 local athletes on class podiums, right across the event.
North on Top in Inter-Areas
West of Scotland relinquished the Junior Inter-Area crown it won last year, but not without a fight as North returned to the top of the podium for the eighth time in nine events.
Compass Sport Silver for FVO
A sterling team effort from Forth Valley Orienteers came up just short, as they finished runner-up in the Compass Sport Cup final for a fourth consecutive year.
Scotland Forever (But Only Just!)
Scotland juniors won the Home International in East Anglia by the narrowest of margins to ensure that the Scots secured the overall Home International series for the first time in five years.
England Wins Home International
England won the Veteran Home International in Ireland to tie up the international series with one event to go, but there were eight FVO athletes in the hunt.
Three to the Fore in International Races
Three FVO stars were in action for Great Britain in the final international races of 2024, and all three made their mark in the face of tough competition.
The Power of 12
A display of across-the-board power ensured that Scotland claimed its 12th consecutive victory in the Junior Inter-Regional Championships in Gloucestershire.
Nice Up North
Forth Valley Orienteers enjoyed major success on the Northern streets, as their athletes dominated proceedings in a Scottish Urban League double header in Nairn and Burghead.
Flying the Flag
Forth Valley Orienteers' junior stars flew the Scottish flag with pride in England, as they were the first Scottish team in seven years to take part in a major British competition.
Scotland Sees SHI Success
A spectacular pair of days in the Senior Home Internationals brought Scotland home with a comfortable score to defend their title following two races held locally by Forth Valley Orienteers.
Ali's All Gold
Forth Valley Orienteers' star Alison Cunningham made history in Finland, as the first Scot since 2012 to be a World Masters champion, with gold over the W60 Sprint distance in Turku.
Peter's on Top of the World
A fantastic 2nd leg from Forth Valley Orienteers' Peter Molloy helped Great Britain to the World University Championship Sprint Relay gold medal in Razlog, Bulgaria.
