Our intrepid club members are racing well all over Europe at the moment.
Last week the World Masters was held in Bad Harzburg, Germany and we saw some strong results from 3 club members:

Classic Long Race W45 Hazel Dean – 10th M55 Martin Dean – 18th M65 Dave Coustick – 46th
Well done to Hazel for her consistent top 10s!
Also last week one of our newest members, Mark Nixon was representing team GBR at the World Student Championships in Alicante, Spain. Mark came 18th in the middle distance event. Rosalind Hussey, racing for Ireland, had two excellent top 30 results, 29th in the Sprint and 28th in the Middle.
This week it’s the youngsters’ turn – the Junior World Orienteering Championships began on Sunday. Forth Valley member Jamie Stevenson is having an excellent JWOC so far, achieving 25th in the Sprint (best Brit) yesterday and 24th in the Long (best Brit) today. Tomorrow is a rest day before the athletes take part in the qualification race for the middle – the top 15 athletes in each of three heats go through to Thursday’s Middle final. The final race of the week are the relays on Friday and Jamie has been selected to run for team GBR’s first team, probably on leg 1. To keep up with the action go to www.jwoc2012.sk
