JK 2023 Day 2 - Super Saturday!
Strong middle day at JK'23 for FVO, as the team picked up eight A class medals on a fine afternoon of racing at High Dam.
Andy Llewellyn successfully defended his M35L title in 39.04, while James Hammond backed up yesterday's Sprint win with the Middle distance crown, in 27.00. Hannah Inman was the third FVO star to top an A class, as she led out W12A in 17.28.
Jason Inman couldn't quite make it the Dream Double of British and JK titles in the same season, as he was sandwiched between two Norwegians in M50L, but his silver medal (40.56) represents his best run-out since he was a junior.
Esme Kelly collected her first big medal outside Scotland, as she won the silver in W14A (25.30), and there were bronze medals for Chris Smithard (M21E - (his best showing at a JK middle) in 35.42), Kirsty Bryan-Jones (W50 - 41,47, as the top Brit in the class) and Alison Cunningham (W60 – 33.41).
In the Short classes, Simon Patton won M55S in an impressive 34.50, with Simon Hunt collecting the bronze in 41.57, Duncan Barker raced in M21V and was 3rd (81.55), Clare Stansfield was 3rd in W21S (37.41) and Lucy Hensman won bronze in W18L (36.37).
