Wet and Wild at the OMM
Two days of heavy rain and mist didn't deter the competitors, including four FVO-ers, at the 48th Original Mountain Marathon in Glentrool, Galloway and there was podium success for the local lads.
Roger Goddard and partner Will Manners (Strathearn Harriers) were 4th (2nd veteran pair) in the A Class, over 65km in a time of 11.56.15. Not to be out-done, Ben Stansfield and fellow orienteer Patrick Bartlett (Interlopers) were 2nd overall and first veteran pair on the Long Score class, in a time of 13.08.29, having led overnight.
The all-FVO team of Jon Cross and Ross McLennan was 11th in the highly-competitive B Class (50km), and would doubtless have placed higher, had both men not been injured en-route.
