About Us
Forth Valley Orienteers are one of the leading orienteering clubs in Britain. With over 300 members of all ages from younger than 8 to older than 80, and all abilities from new starters to international elites, we pride ourselves on welcoming and supporting everyone who joins us.
Based around the Forth Valley estuary, the FVO area includes such notable towns as: Stirling, Alloa, Dunblane, Falkirk, Linlithgow, Dollar, Aberfoyle and Callander. We organise more than 60 events throughout the year so there's always some local orienteering taking place for FVO members, members of other clubs, and newcomers alike.
The club's colours are royal blue and gold, and our logo is the well known Wallace Monument, located in the heart of the Club's area (quite literally - it appears on the Abbey Craig map!).
FVO was founded in 1973 - and we recently celebrated our 50th Anniversary. Our founding members are still active in orienteering.
Orienteering Areas
FVO plays host to a number of prime orienteering areas, including the Trossachs, together with a range of smaller areas ideal for local events. FVO also maintains 9 permanent orienteering courses for general public use.
