Activities
As well as our programme of orienteering events, FVO organises weekly exercise sessions, regular training sessions for juniors and training weekends for all, occasional social gatherings, and our extremely popular annual awards evening and ceilidh!
Weekly Sessions
Monday - Stretching and Strengthening session
Every Monday evening at 6.20pm - 7.20pm. These are free for club members and online so you can join from home. 30 minutes of exercises followed by a short, sharp round of circuits. No equipment required apart from a mat and some means of getting online. Contact Dawn Goddard to obtain a link.
FVO Stars - Junior Training
See our dedicated junior pages for information and contact Nicola Melville for details of our FVO Stars training programme.
Training Weekends
FVO organises one (occasionally two) training weekends a year - usually to Speyside or the Lake District. These are suitable for all ages and all standards, and the training is tailored to suit. We stay together in a residential centre with the option for some night orienteering on Friday, various training options on Saturday, and usually a local event on Sunday. These are very sociable weekends with a communal meal and after-dinner games on the Saturday evening.
Social Events
We often go to a local pub or restaurant for dinner after the Wednesday evening events - a good place to compare route choices and get to know fellow club members. FVO also organises an 'afternoon tea' during the Scottish 6 Days, as well as a Christmas dinner.
Awards Evening
The highlight of the FVO social calendar is the annual awards evening and ceilidh held in the Victoria Halls, Dunblane after the club championships in November.
