Athlete Support Policy
FVO sets aside a sum of money each year to help support its athletes. To qualify for support athletes must be FVO members, and meet one of the following two criteria:
- Unable to attend selection races, or tours/competitions for which they have been selected, without additional financial support.
Applications in this category can be submitted at any time throughout the year with a specific request for assistance and justification, and will be handled sensitively by the Treasurer and President.
- Selected to represent their IOF-member country at one or more international competitions.
Applications in this category must be submitted by 31st October each year and include a list of international competitions (and pre-competition training camps), costs incurred, and other sources of funding. These applications will be considered by the whole Committee at their first meeting after 31st October. All applications will be considered, but as a guide we wouldn’t normally expect to fund seniors who are in full-time employment.
