A notable landmark was established on Saturday, as we had our 2000th finisher in an FVO-series race in 2021.
Champions all!
After two years of waiting, we were finally able to stage a Club Championships, and it was well worth the wait for the near-80 competitors who lined up at Duncraggan to take on Andy Llewellyn's courses.
FVO Knows the Score
FVO's finest displayed their bouncebackability, by picking up 17 medals, including four national titles, at the Scottish Score Championships in Dalkeith.
In the City
An excellent day of competition was had on the streets of Bannockburn, as we launched the Stirling City Race to close out the 2021 Scottish Urban League season, and there were twelve FVO athletes on class podiums at the end of the day.
A Relay Great Day
Forth Valley Orienteers played host to the National Relay Championships, and came away with two championship titles after an exciting day of racing at Doon Hill, Aberfoyle.
GB Brings Home the Bacon in Danish Trial
Forth Valley Orienteers international stars were in scintillating form as they produced a set of stunning results at a world ranking competition in Denmark. The 2022 World Championships is the first where the sprint and forest disciplines are separated, and more than 200 of the world's top athletes
Compass Sport Epic
An epic battle in the final of Britain's premier club competition saw Forth Valley Orienteers come up just short in their bid to retain the trophy, despite recording the second highest points total in the 38 year history of the event.
England wins JHI as FVO three star for Scotland and Wales
Three FVO athletes were on national team duty at the Junior Home Internationals in south-east England, which saw the home nation regain the trophy.
Peter and James - best of British
FVO's James Hammond and Peter Molloy were crowned British champions as the final major event of the year was held on the sand dues of North Devon.
FVO Duo Star in Sprint Relays
Forth Valley Orienteers' Grace Molloy and Chris Smithard made up half the Great Britain team for the World Cup final in Italy as GB posted its best World Cup team performance in 13 years.
Sprint Success for Super Seven
FVO athletes were prominent in the honours at the Scottish Sprint Championships in Kilmarnock, coming away with 15 medals, including seven national titles.
Stars shine at the Seaside
The young stars of Forth Valley Orienteers took their chance to shine, as they scooped eight medals at the Scottish Junior Cup, on the wooded dunes of Tentsmuir, Fife.
Stirlingshire stars have sprint success
FVO athletes were amongst the medals at the British Sprint Championships in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, as team orienteering competition returned for the first time in 18 months.
The Highland Fling 2 - Scottish Six Days
The biannual 'Six Days' is traditionally the biggest event in the UK calendar, with over 5000 participants. However, COVID border restrictions meant that none of the overseas competitors were able to line up this time, while the event was split into two three day events, to minimise contact.
The Highland Fling 1 - Coasts and Islands
FVO members enjoyed major success at the inaugural Coasts and Islands festival in the Scottish highlands, winning four overall titles, including both elite championships.
GB callups for FVO quartet
Four FVO athletes have been rewarded for their fine form with Great Britain callups for the big summer Internationals.
