Return to the Valley of the Mole
Forth Valley Orienteers will return in October to the site of a previous triumph, as they head out to the Compass Sport Cup final in East Grinstead, where they won the 2019 final, after a thrilling race at the Trossachs.
All Aboard for Middle Magic
Twelve months later than expected, we were able to put on a quality event in our best area, as FVO hosted the 2026 Scottish Middle Championships in the Trossachs, then dominated the medal tables with 19 gongs.
Portu-geezers (and Portu-gals)
A fantastic 3rd place for Will Hensman in the Long distance chasing start race helped him to the overall Bronze medal in M45 at Portugal O-Meet 2026, which rounded off a great long weekend for the FVO party.

The Scottish Night Championship in Aberdeenshire saw a much-changed FVO lineup from last week's British version.
Night Warriors Strike
An exciting British Night Championship on a technical course in Hertfordshire brought lots of success for a small FVO contingent, which captured four medals including a ninth elite title for one.
"Can I Have Some More?" - 2025 AGM
The 2025 AGM of the club, which was held in Dunblane, heard of another successful year both on and off the piste, as Brad Connor reported on the first year of his presidency.
Dead-Heat on the Street
Forth Valley Orienteers continued their fine form in the Scottish Urban League, as they brought home four course winners, including a dead heat on one course, and ten class medals at the Edinburgh City Race in the capital.
Weekend Warriors to the Fore
There were rich pickings for local athletes in the first big race of the year, as FVO scored six podium finishes at the EUOC Big Weekend in Holyrood Park, where half of the club contingent finished in the top 10 in their race field.
Out with the Old - In with the New
Forth Valley Orienteers saw out the old year and brought in the new in spectacular fashion with a string of top performances over the festive period.
We are the Road Crew!
FVO athletes set a new club record, as they picked up half the available Scottish Urban League titles amongst 16 podium places following the league final at Newhaven, Edinburgh, one better than the previous record haul.
Park Life
Forth Valley Orienteers brought their 2025 season to a close with eight medals, including two champion performances, at the 26th Glasgow Parks Championship.
Dunblane at the Double
Dunblane HS became the first Scottish outfit in 11 years, and only the second ever to win the British Schools Championship on a banner day for local youngsters at Hopetoun House, Abercorn.
And there was Dancing...
The social highlight of the year is always the Awards Dinner and Ceilidh, which has been held at the Victoria Halls in Dunblane for the past 12 years.
Big Day at Beecraigs
The 2025 FVO Club Championship at Beecraigs Country Park near Linlithgow was perhaps the largest "local" event we've run in the 52 years of FVO.
STUOC Snags Student Success
Local orienteers were amongst the medals in a big race in the Trossachs, with Stirling University enjoying their best day of results to date.
Major Awards for FVO Pair
There was a unique double honour for two local orienteering stars as they collected the British Orienteering Performance of the Year awards at a ceremony in the Lake District.
