Gristwood is King of the Forest
Forth Valley's British number one Graham Gristwood completed his set of major British orienteering titles at the British long distance championships in Northumberland at the weekend.
FVO Flies to Scottish Championships Success
FVO saw more success at the Scottish Championships which took place at Dalnamein in Highland Perthshire on 24 May.
Bumper Crop for Forth Valley at Harvester Competition
Forth Valley Orienteers continued their excellent form this season and combined to reap a bumper crop of trophies at the Harvester overnight relay race, which took place in the scenic Surrey Hills over the weekend of 17/18 May.
FVO Qualify for National Club Competition Final
Forth Valley Orienteers qualified comfortably for the CompassSport Trophy final, the UK club competition for "small" orienteering clubs, at the Scottish heat which took place today at South Achray forest, Aberfoyle.
First Championship Titles of 2014
Forth Valley orienteers started the year well at the first Championship event of 2014 - the Scottish Sprints at North Muirton, Perth. Class winners were:
FVO Success at the Scottish Night Champs
There were seven Forth Valley winners at the 2014 Scottish Night Champs which took place at Kinnoull Hill, on the edge of Perth, on Saturday 15 February. Winners were:
Daniel Stansfield Podiums for GB at European Youth Orienteering Championships
Daniel Stansfield was selected to compete for Great Britain in the M16 category at EYOC 2013.
Gareth West Highland Way Run 2013
Congratulations to Gareth for becoming the oldest competitor to complete the West Highland Way Race in an outstanding time of 26:15:13. The day (starting at 01:00 on Saturday) had very mixed weather but at least there was not too much chance of heat exhaustion.
FVO on the podium again!
FVO's team of Roger Goddard, Marcus Pinker and Duncan Coombs took a great third place in a hard fought race at this weekend's UK Relay League Final at Tockholes. .
Harvester Victory
The FVO Team, consisting of Trevor Hoey, Marcus Pinker, Jon Marsden, Roger Goddard, Jon Cross, Jason Inman and Duncan Coombs, were victorious at last night's Harvester Relays. This year's, seven leg, overnight relay took place at Bordon Heaths, Hampshire.

So....four great days of orienteering at the JK this weekend are over - and with a range of impressive results from so many different FVO people, not to mention the great organisational effort on Saturday for which many thanks are due to David Nicol as day organiser. And as if that was not enough,
President’s Annual Report
Following my election at the AGM one year ago, I highlighted 5 areas of focus for the club. In reviewing the year I would like to touch on how we have done against these areas of focus.

The last two years have seen the Jim Heardman trophy awarded to very strong candidates, with Gareth and Jan the recipients two years ago and then Gary last year.

FVO helps West win area title
FVO juniors were instrumental in helping the West area team to secure victory in the Inter Area competition on 29 / 30 October. This is the first time the West has won this since anyone can remember! The dominance of the North has finally been broken – hurrah!!
