I thought some of you might be interested to see this - our World Ranking Event at the Trossachs has featured favourably in two notable reviews covering the 2010 orienteering year.
Thistle Awards
Congratulations to Gareth, Jan and all the FVO and Tay members of the organising team for Tay 2009. The Six Day event has just been awarded a Thistle Award for tourism. The award came in the National Events and Festivals Category.
Park World Tour
A great run by Tom Ryan, coming in 9th at the PWT Open Prologue at Scone Palace has led to Tom qualifying for the Elite final on Saturday. At 7.05am on 21 June, just over eight hours after the start, Ross McLennan came flying down the hill from the final control and was joined on the run-in by the rest of our team - to cross the finish line at Merthyr Common in south Wales together and take the Harvester Trophy title for Team Prudentia

The sun shone at Pitmedden Forest for this year's annual junior club competition. 130 juniors from all parts of Scotland took part, including large contingents from INVOC (26) and MAROC (36) who arrived in coaches.

2008 Compass Sport Trophy Winners
In a very close final, FVO came out winners at the Compass Sport Trophy final at Sutton Park to retain our title. Some great runs by FVO members across all the courses were just enough for FVO to beat SARUM into second place by just 10 points.
11 Person Relay and Loch Vaa Weekend
