FVO helps West win area title
FVO juniors were instrumental in helping the West area team to secure victory in the Inter Area competition on 29 / 30 October. This is the first time the West has won this since anyone can remember! The dominance of the North has finally been broken – hurrah!!
Jon and Marie Claire Marry
Jon Cross (FVO) and Marie Claire Shankland (SYO) tied the knot in Hathersage on Saturday 15th October. We look forward to welcoming Marie Claire to FVO.
FVO retains CompassSport
For an unprecedented five times in a row, FVO has won the Compass Sport Trophy Club. It is also FVO's seventh win in the last eight years. Scottish clubs put up a great show, with Interlopers coming in second place, and Clyde in fifth place.
Berlin Marathon - Updated Times
Congratulations to Ross, Roger, Jon, Louise and Heike for completing the Berlin marathon. Ross led the FVO field in the excellent time of 2:44:58, with both Roger and Jon coming in under the 3 hours mark (Roger on 2:58:38 and Jon on 2:59:16).
Falkirk Active Sunday

FVO members selected for VHI
FVO has strong representation in the team to represent Scotland in the VHI which this this year will be held in Deeside, Scotland, over the weekend of 8-9th October. The individual race is at Birsemore Hill and the Relays at Coull.
Jack at the Commonwealth Gams
Congratulations to FVO member Jack Barrett for being selected for Scotland's Commonwealth Youth Games Team.
Scottish Inter Club Relays
Today, at Mugdock, FVO were victorious in the Scottish Inter Club Relays where they retained the 11 Person Trophy. FVO had a further two teams, one in the 11 Person category and another in the 8 Person. Congratulations to all who took part.
FVO through to Compass Sport Trophy final
Slightly below the radar, Day 2 of the Six Days was used for the SOA round of heats for the Compass Sport Trophy/Compass Sport Cup.

Now that I have just about recovered from what seemed a very tough 6 days of orienteering in Oban, I thought I'd reflect on the event and look ahead for the rest of the year.
